Free Meditation Timer

Meditation timer with alarm

A start bell to mark the beginning, a clear end alarm to bring you back — choose the sound, set optional interval strikes, and sit.

10:00

An alarm built for sitting, not for startling

Many timers end a session with a generic phone beep — the exact sound your brain associates with messages and chores. This one opens the sit with a single struck-bell tone and closes it with three slow strikes, synthesized in your browser from pure tones. It is audible enough to end a session decisively and calm enough that the ending does not yank you out.

You choose the instrument: a low Tibetan bowl, a brighter zen gong, or a soft chime. If you want checkpoints during longer sits, the interval option strikes the same bell quietly every 1, 3, 5, or 10 minutes — a way to mark time without opening your eyes.

What counts as an alarm here

One strike when the preparation countdown ends and your sit begins. Optional quiet strikes at your chosen interval. Three strikes when time is up. That is the whole vocabulary — no notifications, no reminders, no phone integration, because the point of a meditation alarm is to be the only sound in the room.

Common questions

Does the alarm work if my screen locks or the tab loses focus?

On most browsers, yes — the timer runs on the system clock, so the closing alarm fires at the right second even in a background tab. If the device itself is muted, the alarm follows your device's sound settings.

Can I make the end alarm louder?

The bells are synthesized at a comfortable fixed level; use your device volume for more. A triple strike at the end is deliberately harder to sleep through than a single strike.

Is there a vibrating or push-notification alarm?

No. This is a browser timer with real bell audio, not an app — nothing to install, no notification permissions, no account. If you want a tactile cue, keep the tab open on a phone in front of you; the screen stays awake while you sit on supported browsers.
