A timer that stays out of the way

This is a meditation timer the way a cushion is a cushion: it does one job and asks for nothing. Pick a duration — one to sixty minutes — choose how you want the session to sound, and press Begin. A brief preparation countdown settles you into your seat, a bell opens the sit, and the closing bell brings you back.

What it adds beyond a kitchen timer is the boring, useful machinery of a daily practice: an automatic streak count, a session log, and a 12-week heat map of your practice — all stored privately in your browser, with one-click export if you want a backup. There is no account because there is nothing to sign into: the whole product runs on your device.

Common questions

Is this meditation timer free?

Completely — no account, no ads on the timer, no premium tier. Your streak and history are stored only in your own browser.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. It is a plain web page: it works in any modern browser, can be added to your home screen, and keeps the screen awake during sessions on supporting devices.

How do the bells work?

Choose a Tibetan bowl, zen gong, or soft chime, optionally strike it at intervals of 1–10 minutes, and let the closing bell end your sit. All sounds are synthesized live — nothing to download.
