Free Meditation Timer

10-minute meditation timer

One bell to start, one to finish — a 10-minute sit with nothing to install and nothing to sign up for.

10:00

Why 10 minutes?

Ten minutes is the standard daily sit recommended by most meditation teachers and apps: a real practice, not a sample. The first few minutes usually settle the body, the middle ones quiet the mind, and the last ones are where the sitting starts to feel worth it.

With the interval bell every five minutes you get one soft checkpoint at the halfway mark. This page defaults to exactly ten minutes — press Begin and sit.

How to use this page

Choose your bell and interval options above, press Begin, and close your eyes. The 10-minute timer starts immediately after a short preparation countdown, opens with one bell strike, and closes the sit when time is up. Keep the tab open — the timer keeps accurate time even in a background tab, and on laptops it can keep the screen awake while you sit.

Common questions

Is this 10-minute meditation timer really free?

Yes — every timer on this site is free, with no account and no ads on the timer itself. Your session history is stored only in your own browser.

Will the bell still ring if I switch tabs during my 10-minute sit?

Yes. The timer is anchored to the clock, not to the tab, so background tabs do not slow it down. Audio plays when the interval or closing bell fires.

Can I change the bell sound on the 10-minute timer?

You can choose a Tibetan bowl, a zen gong, or a soft chime, and add optional interval bells every 1–10 minutes. All sounds are synthesized in your browser — there are no audio files to download.
